Absfroct-To date, many Connection Admhsion Contml (CA0 Schemes have been pmpnsed. These scheme can he generally classified into two categories: measurement-based CAC and traffic descriptor-based CAC. Both categories adopt an open-Imp arehitecture where traffic parameten am ohtained fmm either on-lhe measurements or user-speci6cations and then input into a chosen traffic and network model to make connection admission decisions. No performance feedback is provided to the CAC scheme. How. ever, no traffic model cam he claimed to be accurate for all traffic soulces (e.g. voice traffic, data traffie, viden traffic) under all network scenarios (e.g. heavy traffic scenario or light traffic scenario). Modelling ermn and traffic parameter ermm are inevitable. A0 open-loop CAC scheme lacks the ability to account for modelling e r " and adapt to changing network conditions to achieve an optimum performance. In this paper, we proposed a closed.loop amhitxture for connection admission contml. The implementation of the closed-loop architecture in designing a closed-loop CAC scheme is illustrated Simulation results indicate that the closed-lwp arehitectum w able to overcome the inherent drawhacks of an open-lwp CAC scheme to achieve better performance.
